Coaching Framework

A. Start a Simulator Session

Goal setting, baseline task, initial observation, rider perception, relevant simulator information, question to test, intervention, reassessment, transfer plan, and success markers.

Framework Overview

Use this framework to structure a simulator session from the initial rider conversation through goal confirmation, baseline observation, intervention selection, and transfer planning.

  • Goal setting: what the rider wants to improve and why
  • Rider history: relevant background and previous sessions
  • Baseline task: simple starting point to confirm current function
  • Initial observation: what changes as movement demand increases
  • Rider perception: what the rider reports about their own feel
  • Relevant simulator information: which screens/sensors apply to this issue
  • Question to test: specific thing to observe in this session
  • Intervention: selected exercise and duration
  • Reassessment: how to check what changed
  • Transfer plan: how this translates back to riding
  • Success markers: what improvement looks like
