No stirrups stability work

What It Does

Eliminates the default strategy of pushing into stirrups for security. Forces load management to come from the pelvis and upper leg instead. The leg that appears stable with stirrups but falls apart without them is being held in place by pushing, not by organisation.

What to Feel

The leg hanging more freely from the hip socket without stirrups. Less gripping through the knee and thigh. Weight dropping rather than being pushed.

Common Mistakes

  • Gripping harder without stirrups rather than reorganising the load strategy.
  • Allowing the lower leg to swing freely without stirrups as though it's a reward.
  • Using no stirrups as a strength drill rather than a positional reset.
