Adjusting pressure through stirrup (not pushing)

What It Does

Shows how stirrup pressure is a consequence of posture, not a cause of security. When you manage weight from above correctly, stirrup pressure follows. When you push to find security, you distort the position above.

What to Feel

Subtle changes in how much weight passes through the stirrup, managed through postural change rather than deliberate foot pressure.

Common Mistakes

  • Pressing the heel down to increase pressure rather than adjusting the load above.
  • Confusing increased stirrup pressure with improved security.
  • Not noticing how stirrup pressure changes automatically when posture changes.
